

OLSVIK, Maureen Ann (Moe) – 63, passed away in Hospice Halifax on 26 Aug 2020 after a long battle with liver disease. Born in Chatham, Miramichi, NB she was the daughter of the late Peter and Doris (Reid) Boyle. She is survived by her husband Brian; sons Craig and Andrew, Bedford; sisters Marilyn, Theresa, Kathy, Patricia, Tanya, Chatham, of Miramichi and Tammy, Whitehorse; brothers Peter, Danny, Paddy, Mike, of Miramichi and Paul, Moncton; many other family members including a step son and two grandchildren, a step daughter, many brothers and sisters in laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Maureen married her Air Force husband in 1982 and was a stay at home mom, who devoted all her time and efforts into raising her two sons, who were the joy of her life. On their final posting to Shearwater in 1997 she found her calling and began her career in the health care sector as a PSW (personal support worker). After a short time with Northwood she moved on to Mount Saint Vincent caring for the Sisters of Charity and later to Shannex. She was a very gregarious and caring person and was loved by all who were fortunate to know her. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will always be in our hearts. The family wishes to thank all the staff at the QE11 Health Sciences Center and Hospice Halifax for their overwhelming support and compassion over the past months. Arrangements under the care of JA Snow Funeral Home. Mass will be held at Saint Michaels Basillica, Chatham NB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Saint Michaels Basillica or a charity of your choice.
