Bedford, Nova Scotia.
Maverick was taken from us far too soon in a heartbreaking accident, and leaves behind a legacy of pure joy, love, and laughter that will never fade. From the moment he arrived, Maverick brought life and energy to every space he entered. He was a fearless little soul - joyful, curious, brave, and endlessly loving. His smile was infectious, his spirit unforgettable. He adored the outdoors, especially when it meant playing and exploring with his siblings, driving his own mini "boom boom" (his word for ATVs and motorcycles), or spotting them around.
He also lit up whenever he saw excavators, garbage trucks, if when he would see the ocean. He had a huge love for life, a big obsession with dinosaurs, and his favourite heroes: Venom and Batman.
Maverick had a deep and tender heart, especially for his family. He would wrap his arms around his daddy and mommy and whisper, "You're my best friend," and melt hearts with sweet phrases like:
• "You're so pwetty, Mama."
• "Be thwiet, I'm going to bed."
• "Babe!"
• "Look, a boom boom, Mommy!"
• "Look, the beach - where I live! Roll the winnow down."
• "I luh you, Mommy.
• "I luhhhh you, Daddy, so much."
Maverick will be forever loved and remembered by his parents, Courtney Leblane and Joel Brown; his siblings Aliviah Quinlan, Addyson Penney, and Mason Roberts (who was bravely there with him during the time of the accident); his grandparents Anne Brown and Bernie Brown; his aunt Melanie Brown; and countless other family members, friends, neighbours, and community members who adored him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the first responders and medical staff for their care and compassion, and to the community for the overwhelming love and support shown to Maverick and his family. The service will be held 2pm Saturday, June 28, 2025, at JA Snow Funeral Home and is open to friends and family.
Though our arms are empty, our hearts are full of the love Maverick gave us. We will carry his memory with us always and take comfort knowing he is dancing among the stars to his favourite song, Beautiful Things by Benson Boone.
