

Michael Fredrick Mills, age 58 of Halifax, passed away November 25, 2014, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife, Dorothy; sister, Kip; best friends, Guy and Joanne. Born in Halifax, NS, he was the son of the late Mathew Mills and Amy Mills and his RayPort parents Russell and Gailyn (Ma and Pa) Risser. Mike was employed at Ceres Corp for 25 years. He also enjoyed his part time job at RayPort Campground as Chief Honey Pumper. Mike was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan (Why we don’t know). Mike’s favourite times were spent at RayPort Campground for 22 years. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing with his friends. He loved nightly games of pool with his buddies. Survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; daughter, Michelle, ON; son, Harold (Heather) and step-grandsons, Ben and Jake all of Halifax; his close sister, Linda (Donnie); special sisters, Wanda and Kip; brother, Steven (Janette). Raymond, Guy, and Kevin, who he considered his bro’s. Special friends, Joanne, Judy R., David and Judy, Betty Eisnor, Dave and Lorraine (Weezie), Steve and Judy. Several nieces and nephews. Special apples of his eyes, niece Tammy, Nfld., and Madison and Taylor Eisnor, and Claire Knickle and MacKenzie LeBlanc. Predeceased by father, Mathew; sister, Susan; mother-in-law, Carrie Baker. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014, from 1-4 and 6-9 pm at J.A Snow Funeral Home. 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax (902-455-0531). Memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 30 at 2:00 pm in the J.A. Snow Memorial Chapel, Susan Chisholm officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the IWK Children’s Hospital, Halifax. A very special thank you to Dr. Christopher Graham, and secretary Danielle, for their years of compassion and kindness. Also special thanks to his HFX and South Shore palliative care teams, Dr. David Abriel, Dr. Norton and palliative care nurses, Glena Thornhill and Louise Blackie, and the staff at Guardian Drug Store, Rockingham Ridge.
