Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late John James and Mary Victoria (Croke) Powers.
Retired for several years, he is survived by his partner of 24 years, Bonnie Hogan; daughter Maryella Powers; stepchildren Gerald, Juanita, David and Tom; sisters Marlene, Linda and Judy; brothers John, Jim, and Edgar; beloved Grampie to Natasha and Quinn; and unforgettable Pops to numerous other grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his late wife Dorothy C. Powers; a stepson, a granddaughter, a brother and two sisters.
Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531 on Wednesday, August 29th from 7-9pm. Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, August 30th at 10:00am. Burial will follow immediately where he will be laid along side his late wife in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lwr. Sackville.
