Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Josephine Holland. She was a person of great strength; a wonderful loving mother and grandmother. Muriel worked for many years at Maritime Tel & Tel North Street and was a very active member of her church, Sacred Heart Timberlea, until she became ill. Survived by her daughter, Carol-Ann Garland, NL; twin granddaughters Olivia and Sarah Garland, NL, and companion Elmer McNally, Timberlea. Sisters Shirley (Tom) Chadwick, Indian Harbour, Carol (Wayne) Shinners, Bedford. Muriel is predeceased by twin sister Marion Beaver; brother James C. Holland and husband Everett Kelly. Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531, on Thursday, May 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Celebration of Muriel’s life will be held at St. Agnes Church, Mumford Rd., Friday, May 4th at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of N.S.
