Nelson Brown

Brown, Nelson – 90 of Halifax. Born January 25, 1923, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2013 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Samuel and Roselle (King) Brown. Nelson was a decorated veteran of the Second World War, having served in the Armed Forces at home and abroad. He was a member of the RCR’s and RCA Royal Canadian Military Band. His love of music kept him busy throughout his life. He will lovingly be remembered by his wife Joan (Perks); sons, Wayne, Brian, Glenn; daughter, Sandra (Allen); grandchildren Sarah, Jordan Brown, Dean, Darren, and Danna Brown; great-grandsons, Alexander and Jordan (Stephenson); brothers Donald, Gordon (Evelyn); sisters Joyce (Frank) Griswald. Predeceased by his sisters Annie, Ida, Mae, Florence, Carol and brother James. Visitation will take place in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, (455-0531) on Saturday October 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
