
Patricia “Pat” Joyce Fordham (Cooper)- of Halifax. We are saddened to announce the passing of Patricia (Pat) Joyce Fordham in her eighty-fifth year. Pat passed peacefully during the night at her seniors’ residence in Halifax.
Pat was born in Murray Harbour, Prince Edward Island on February 18, 1938 to Chester (Ches) and Marguerite (Reta) Cooper. She was educated at Murray Harbour, Southport, and Prince of Wales College, Charlottetown. Pat was active in marketing and banking prior to moving to Halifax where she married Arthur (Art) Fordham on August 1, 1964, she was a loyal and loving wife supporting Art in his law career. Pat was predeceased by her, husband Arthur; parents and her parents-in law Nora and Arthur Fordham and nephew Brian Cooper. Pat is survived by her brothers Barry (Diane) Cooper and Cyril (Gail) Cooper, niece Natalie (Mark) Middlebrook, nephews Kevin (Deirdre) Cooper, Craig (Karen) Cooper, Brent (Jamie) Cooper, Darren (Helen) Cooper and great nieces and nephews. Pat was devoted to her nieces and nephews and was always interested in their activities. Pat was active as a volunteer in Beta Sigma Phi, Rotary Club, Eastern Star, Council of Women and Women for Music. Pat was an active member of the Anglican Cathedral Church of All Saints in Halifax where she was a licenced Lay Reader (Lay Minister), and a member of the former Gordon Group. Pat participated in many hospitality activities at the Cathedral, including the Annual Lenten Lunches, the Pancake Supper and Coffee Hour. Pat was loved and highly regarded by the clergy and members of the Cathedral Congregation. She will be missed and remembered as a loving friend and devoted member of the Cathedral Church of All Saints
The family would like to express its thanks to Parkstone-Fleming Way for their wonderful care, love and kindness to Pat while she was in their care, she often expressed to family and friends her appreciation for the care she received.
There will be a private committal service at the Cathedral Church of All Saints and later a Celebration of Life at the Cathedral Church of All Saints. The date for the latter event will be published at a later date.
