So sorry to hear that Rex has passed away. He was our family doctor until his retirement. He delivered all of our 3 children. Every delivery got him out of bed in the early morning. I ( Art ) was his accountant for over 30 years. Our sincere condolences to the family.

To the Langdon family, I want to express my deepest condolences on the passing of Dr. Rex Langdon. I was a patient of his since 1958 when he delivered me and little did he know I would be a patient until he retired. He was kind, thoughtful and always had my back, the last of his kind.. he will be truly missed..

Rex will be truly missed by myself and my Dad.    Rex was a great friend to my Dad as Maureen is to me.  Dad could never catch up to Rex while he was outside at Bradford doing laps around the building even on the coldest days.

Doctor Langdon was mine and family's MD for over 40 years till he retired.  As a teen he gave me the " talk" as we were a single parent family, we all missed him so much when he retired. My prayers for Rex and your Family.

Maureen, I was so sorry to hear about your father’s passing.  He was always such a gentleman and I enjoyed seeing him while visiting Mom at Parkland.  My condolences to you and your family.

Your Dad was a wonderful doctor, very kind, caring and professional.  He was our family doctor from the early 1960's until his retirement: we attended the reception which he hosted.
He and your Mom, Bernice made a very good team in their office at the corner of Spring Garden and Robie.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Rex’s death. I had the pleasure of knowing him for over 30 years.  He succeeded Dr Harris Miller as the medical referee on the Teachers’ Pension Commission.  He and I met every six weeks or so to review the files.  Every Christmas we had a nice lunch! At the same time he became our family doctor. He was one of the last old school family doctors. Faithfully every week he made a home visit to see my mother in law.  I am sure Rex was the man they modelled the TV show Marcus Welby on! My sincere condolences to the Langdon family.

Dr Langdon was the best.   A doctor first always a friend. Memories cherished   Thank you for your compassion  accessibility and empathy. Love and miss you.   RIP

Dear Patsy, Paul and Maureen,

YES I agree!  Your Dad was an amazing, gentle, kind and compassionate soul. And so good to your Mom who loved him dearly and vice versa. 

The Auld’s, the Langdon’s, Prince’s, Harper’s , Morton’s….we all had such great times in both Ingonish and Cavendish.   Everyone loved “sexy” Rexy.   His Perry Mason looks, combined with his charm and twinkly eye, made him popular wherever he went.

 Rex and Dad  shared many an Oland’s Schooner and in later years, R&C’s appeared to be the beverage of choice.  Golf was their passion and Ashburn’s Cabbage Bowl was an annual highlight.  My husband, Bob, can vouch that Rex was always the long ball hitter off the Tee. 

Your Dad was a wonderful doctor and Mom relied on him into her later years.  She (annd everyone else) could always count on Rex. 

Our sympathies go out to you. Rex lived a full life and I am sure that he, Bernice, Alice and Bense are together once again sharing lots of laughs.

Rex  was one of the many terrific and influential Pinewood Acres Dads we had the pleasure to have in our lives during our formative years. 
I have such great memories of his gentle presence in your home. 
 The only time I recall that he asked for quiet from us was during his card game nights with his buddies in your basement on his new and VERY fancy card table that doubled as bumper pool; Rex was definitely leading edge! 

Hugs to you all as you navigate life without your Dad's physical presence, but take solace in knowing he certainly had a life very well lived , touching so many lives in such positive ways.

I just wanted to pass along my condolences to you and your families !  I was friends with your brother Kevin and didn't really know you guys very well, but alot of time has passed since back in the early days of  us living on Royal Pine and you guys living down the street.

I used to run into your Dad, the odd time I happened to make it to Bethany(Christmas or Easter) , when I was still living in Halifax and my parents were alive.

You have a life time of memories to cherish and remember all of those ! And to all of the patients that your Dad would have  helped in his practice ! Gosh I think my Dad practiced dentistry, for as long as your Dad practiced medicine !

My family send you our deepest condolences on the passing of your dear father.  A very long time ago we all lived on Fleming Drive and my brothers were friends of your brother Kevin, and I was playmates with Patsy, whom I reconnected with a number of years ago.  I can hear both of your Mom and Dad's voices in my memory as I continued to be a patient at your Dad's office and would see  your Mom working at the desk as well.  What stands out however is the great compassion he showed to both of my parents as they aged and dealt with their own illnesses.  We all knew the outcomes but you Father was incredibly kind at appointments.  Medicine is both an art and a science.  Your Father showed that in the darkest of times care of the spirit in that person was greater than the science.  My family and I understand your loss and sorrow at this huge loss of his presence.  You are in our hearts at this time.

 Sincere condolences on the passing of Rex. They didn't make many like him – a wonderful doctor, devoted family man, and importantly (to me, anyway), a passionate lover of the game of golf 😉.   I fondly remember the few times I had the good fortune to play with Rex and Paul, and what a character he was. I also have warm memories of his kindness and professionalism during a few sales calls to his office – always the gentleman.
