Bob studied sciences at Saint Mary’s University. He was employed for several years at Dugger’s Men’s Wear. He left there and had a long and distinguished career in the medical instrumentation field, first working Carl Zeiss Canada Inc. and then developing and building his own company Microworks Inc. Bob was well known and highly respected in medical, research and educational institutions throughout the Maritimes, for his skill; personal and professional services; and gentlemanly manner. Bob was a Maritime Figure Skating Champion in the 60’s. He enjoyed scuba diving and was employed as a diver in Bedford Institute of Oceanography during his university years.
Bob adored his wife of 37 years, Frances (Kelly) Murdock. He was a devoted father to sons: Joseph, Michael and Stephen, and to daughter Karen, and much loved brother-in-law to Rita (Jim Mahar), Michael (Beatriz) Kelly, and Teresa Spearman. To all who knew him, Bob was a role model of a loving father, family man and friend. He was a highly skilled craftsman who loved working around his home, for his family. He was solid and steady in all situations, and always generous in heart and spirit, with his time and skills in helping others.
