

With broken hearts we regret to announce the passing of Royal King, Halifax (formerly of Port Felix, Guysborough County). Royal died peacefully at home November 22, 2016, surrounded by the love and support of his wife and family. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Darlene (Arsenault); son, Clifford (Samantha); brothers, Allan, Harold (Lorianne); grandchildren Deonna, Joel and Kyle, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving daughter, Pamela (Taylor); parents Helen (Pellerine) and father Joseph; and infant sister Sara. Royal grew up in Port Felix where he spent much of his time with his grandparents, the late Al and Beatrice George. He spent his earlier years employed at the Canso Fish Plant, then later moved to Halifax and was employed at The Waverly Inn for 16 years. He spent the last four years working at The Berkeley Senior Care Residence, where he was very appreciated by residents and staff. Royal’s favourite hobby was bargain hunting, He enjoyed finding the best deals. He loved spending time with his grandchildren who found great pleasure in his story telling! He was always full of life, had a kind heart and was loved by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place. Visitation Friday November 25, 2016 from 7 – 9 pm at JA Snow Funeral Home, Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Funeral service to be held Saturday, November 26, 2016, at 11am at St. Joseph’s Parish in Port Felix. Family flowers only please.
