Ruby Bernice Boutilier

Boutilier, Ruby "Bernice" age 81 of Halifax NS, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2015 at White Hills Long Term Care Facility, Hammonds Plains NS. Born and raised in Grand Falls NL she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Olive (Earl) Fudge. She graduated with a nursing degree from St. John's Memorial University, St. John's NL. She had worked for many years at the old Grace Maternity Hospital in Halifax up until her retirement. She liked to knit, bowl, listen and dance to music, especially the Jive and loved her chocolate and her hot cup of tea. Bernice is survived by her son John, 3 daughters, Debbie (Jerry), Kim (Dale), Jacqueline (Andrew) and stepson Michael. She was the much loved Nanny "B" to 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Ted and sisters Dorothy, Evelyn and Ruth. She was predeceased by her husband Ernie, brothers Bruce, Bert and a sister in infancy. Visitation and memorial service will be held at Snow's Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, NS on Friday January 23, 2015 . Visitation will be held from 10am to 12pm . Memorial service will be at 12 noon, with a reception to follow. Private family burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society. A special thanks to all of the kind, caring and compassionate staff of White Hills (Taylor Lake) who were involved with our mom during her stay, and helped us get through this difficult time. As Mom always used to say "love you lots". She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
