

Sallum will always be remembered as a devoted husband to his cherished wife, Sabah. As the youngest of three brothers, alongside Bessem and Zied, he was a cherished member of a close-knit family that included his parents, Alfred (Fouad) and Maria Sallum. His Aunt Asma greatly influenced his childhood in Bonthe, Sierra Leone, where strong family ties were created.
Sallum and Sabah emigrated to Halifax in 1989 to join their extended family. He was a faithful member of Saint Antonios Orthodox Church. Preceded in death by his brother-in-law Elias Saba, sister-in-law Laurice (Adib) Faraj, sister-in-law Marie (Michael) Wehbe, Brother-in-Law Elias Sande, brother Zied (Azize) and brother Bessem. Survived by sister-in-law Laura (Charlie) Chediac, sister-in-law Rita Saba, sister-in-law Layla Sande, sister-in-law Joumana (Ibrahim) Chater, and sister-in-law Azize Solomon. Sallum cherished the role of a father figure to his many nieces and nephews, especially adoring his beloved niece Sabah, who was lost too soon.
Sallum was known for his gentle soul, kind heart, and humble nature, deeply committed to his family. His infectious humor and playful spirit brought joy and laughter to those around him. Facing numerous health challenges with remarkable courage, he lived life to the fullest with the unwavering support of Sabah, who stood by him every step of the way.
Beyond his family, Sallum was respected for his sharp business acumen, earning the nickname "the White Shark," reflecting both his intelligence and silver hair. He savored life’s pleasures, whether at the casino or spending time with friends and loved ones.
Sallum's passing leaves a profound void in the lives of all who loved him. Rest in peace, dear Sallum. Your memory will be cherished always.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday August 12, 2025 from 6-9pm in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 13, 2025 at 11:00am in Saint Antonios Antiochian Orthodox Church, 2480 Windsor St, Halifax. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 33 Old Sackville Rd, Lower Sackville.
