Born on August 25, 1973, in Fort Qu’Appelle, SK, Scott lived a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Raised in Balcarres, SK, Scott was the cherished son of Stanley and Jacqueline Aldous, whose love and guidance shaped him into the remarkable man he became. Scott’s roots were intertwined with the community, where he grew up curling and playing fastpitch and softball. Over the years Scott and his twin sisters, Cheryl and Sheila, always maintained a fun-loving relationship. He was always ready with a playful quip or a lighthearted joke that would bring smiles and laughter to their visits. His playful wit was a testament to the love that he had for them.
Predeceased by his father (Stanley Douglas Aldous), grandparents (Jacob and Caroline Lang and Douglas and Nora Aldous) and 2 uncles.
Survived by his loving Wife, Daughter, Mother and two Sisters. Many Uncles, Aunts and cousins.
Scott was a devoted husband to his loving wife Heather with whom he shared a beautiful life since their marriage on September 5, 2008, in Cochrane, Alberta. They started their life together in Calgary, Aberta, and relocated with their young daughter to Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia, in 2014. Their marriage was characterized by warmth and joy. They were soul mates where words didn’t need to be exchanged, there was so much comfort and love through each other’s presence. Scott was a true family man, and his most cherished role was as a father to Drue. They were best friends, two peas in a pod. The three spent countless hours camping, fishing, and exploring beaches and the ocean's wonders together. Movie nights and campfires were favourite quiet times for Scott, Heather, and Drue, whose laughter and happiness made their family inseparable. As a father, Scott was nothing short of extraordinary. He adored Drue and embraced every role with pride and enthusiasm. He was a "Dance Dad Extraordinaire”, and was always ready to help with hair, provide unwavering support and encouragement, and was a force to be reckoned with when taping the hard shoes. This involvement was not limited to dance; Scott was a proud father who embraced every moment of his daughter’s life. He took great joy in helping with baseball, where his patient guidance and competitive spirit made him a beloved figure on the field.
Scott was a man of few words; his character was a reflection of his genuine nature—thoughtful, protective, and adventurous. He was a huge Blue Jays and Oilers fan and enjoyed rivalry with his friends. He was a true friend, one that you could always count on, making him a cherished part of the many lives of those he touched. He had a unique ability to bring humor and joy to every situation, and those who knew him best got to experience his funny and silly side.
Professionally, Scott was known as a dedicated worker, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. He held a special place as a mentor to many, sharing wisdom and creating bonds that extended beyond the workplace. His contributions were marked by hard work and a commitment to excellence, and he enjoyed sharing laughter and camaraderie with his coworkers.
Scott was our everything. His love, kindness, and adventure will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his family, friends and all who were fortunate to know him. His spirit will live on through the cherished memories and the countless lives he touched. May he rest in peace, knowing that he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, details of which will be shared with family and friends.
