

He emigrated to Canada in 1967 with his wife Stephanie. They lived at various times in Lockeport, Liverpool and Halifax. Terry was a music teacher, singer, actor, choral conductor and composer and was the founding music director of: Lockeport Men's Choir, Liverpool Boys' Choir, Queens Community Choir, Winds of Change Music and Drama Society, 3 handbell choirs, Halifax Boys' Honour Choir, N.S. Youth Chamber Choir and Nova Voce Men's Choir.
He was a past president and honorary life member of N.S. Music Educator's Association, a vice president and board member of N.S. Choral Federation, a member of The Contemporary Art Society of Nova Scotia and Dartmouth Visual Arts Society. Terry was a choir member and served on several committees at St.
Matthew's United Church. He has also sung with The Halifax Camerata Singers, Symphony Nova Scotia Chorus and has directed Seton Cantata Choir and the Jubilate Singers.
Surviving are daughter: Kathryn (Alan) Hurrell, grand daughter Ada Rose; sisters: Janice Breen and Christine (Trevor) Ferris: sister-in-law: Jasmine Golson; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Besides his wife, Stephanie and his parents, Terry was predeceased by brother, Brian Hurrell and brothers-in-law Antrim Breen and Compton Golson.
The body has been cremated. Donations may be made to a NS Choral Federation Berwick Camp Scholarship or to St. Matthew's United Church, Halifax.
There will be a funeral service in the summer, date to be posted later on the website.
