Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on June 20, 1979, to Terry and Maureen Flemming, Terry was a devoted husband, loving father, beloved son and brother, and cherished friend to many.
Terry was a gifted carpenter, who dedicated over 25 years to working alongside his father, fostering a deep and meaningful father-son relationship. He was an incredibly talented craftsman, and he took immense pride in every project he undertook. Recently, he began constructing a camp with his wife, Dorothy, a long-held dream for their retirement. Together, they collaborated to bring this vision to life, with Terry's careful planning and attention to detail guiding their efforts.
In their home, Terry left behind countless scraps of paper, filled with material lists, measurements and building ideas. In the years to come, the girls will continue to find these plans tucked away — small fragments of a dream that their father invested so much love and energy into.
Terry’s love for the outdoors was boundless. He especially enjoyed four-wheeling, expertly shooting his shotguns, and boating, most recently on his long awaited for Cape Islander, the Tick-A-T-Boo, which he was so excited to share with his family and friends.
His dream of owning his own boat was fulfilled less than three weeks before his passing. A dream he had worked toward for many years, the boat symbolized Terry's deep love for the water and his desire to make lasting memories with his family on the open seas.
He also loved camping, especially in the rain, where his knack for creating “tarp cities” and building bonfires became legendary.
Though he had a tremendous number of friends, Terry was at heart a quiet, introspective man, happiest in the company of his family and close friends.
Above all, Terry will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family. He was the person who would give the shirt off his back to someone in need, always putting others before himself. His selflessness and warm heart touched the lives of everyone he met, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion.
Terry is survived by his beloved wife and partner of 30 years, Dorothy, their two beautiful daughters, Teri-Lynn and Baylie, his parents, Terry and Maureen, sister, Amanda (Craig) and nieces and nephew, Sam, Jess and Carter. He will also be deeply missed by his many friends, extended family, and all who were lucky to know him.
A funeral service to celebrate Terry's life will be held on September 10th, 2025 at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. A reception will follow to continue the sharing of memories and stories.
