

Born August 12, 1929, in Sydney, Tom was the son of the late Thomas and Malena (Mollon) Trenchard. Tom attended St. F X before moving to Halifax. He worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative in the Atlantic region for almost 40 years. Tom loved to travel around the Province in his spare time, particularly to Cape Breton. An avid reader, Tom was a real word “aficionado”, and always enjoyed a challenging crossword puzzle. He had an extensive music collection and loved classic movies. He especially enjoyed time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchild; he had special relationships with them all and nicknames for each one.Tom is survived by his children Richard (Bonnie), Lynda Phelan, Sandy (Woody) Woodworth, and Michael (Carla Adams); former daughter-in-law, Adelia (Graham) Holloway; brother, Wayne, sister-in-law Golda Trenchard, aunt Cedella (Mollon, formerly Strang) Lockhart; grandchildren Wendy, Wally (Nancy), Thomas “TJ”, Margaret, Heather and Hannah; great granddaughter, Caitlyn; former wife Ruth (Peverley) Swansburg. Tom was predeceased by brother, Robert; sister, Doris; son, Rob; and son-in-law, Gerry Phelan.Cremation has taken Place.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at J A Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax.
A memorial celebration of Tom's life will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2:00 PM, at Rockingham United Church, 12 Flamingo Drive, Halifax; Rev. Debbie Aitken officiating.
