We are heartbroken to announce the sudden loss of our dear “Nan”, 79 years young.
Survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Blaine. They spent their days side-by-side. She truly made their house into a home, the smell of fresh baked bread, supper and her well known immaculate floors were a guarantee when you came through the door. There was always time for a tea, snack and a good laugh.
The very best Mom to Denise(David), and predeceased by ‘her boy’ Sheldon (who she will be so happy to be reunited with), along with the rest of “the boys”, who were taken far too soon.
Her biggest accomplishment, by far was being “Nan” to Shelbi(Justin), Matt(Hannah), Karli(Travis) & Jakob(Becky) and “Nanny” to Dawsyn, Lincoln, Sawyer, Wesley & Luke. She rarely missed a trip to town, or a road trip with Denise, Shelbi, and the kids, babysitting Daws & Lincy; “bring them down” she would say, or to just have all of her family under one roof, telling stories and having a good laugh. She took every opportunity she could to play outside, flying airplanes, going sledding and fill the bellies of the little ones she loved so, so dearly. The memories we have been so lucky to have made with Nan will be treasured, forever.
She will be dearly missed by her chosen family, “the Comeaus”, who she loved like her own. She was known to many as “Nang” in the tight knit communities of Terence Bay & Tuckerville, where there will remain a void that could never be filled. Survived by her siblings, Muriel, Colleen(Walter), Redmond and many, many extended family and friends.
Predeceased by her parents, Nelly & Oscar Hartlen, sister Gladys(Turk), brothers Cyril(Frances) & Donnie(Dot), and best friends Judy, Marilyn & Cathy.
Heaven has been a much more beautiful place since the day she arrived.
We will be celebrating the life of Veronica on Wednesday July 23 from 2-4 at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax
