Violet Joan Pyke

Joan V Pyke ( Taylor) age 74 of Halifax passed away April 2nd in her home. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of Stanley Taylor and Alice Taylor (LeDrew). Joan was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Joan is survived by her daughters Susan (Guy) Brisseau and Lisa (Dennis) Sutherland, her 4 grandchildren, sisters Dorothy Cross and Eleanor Snair, brothers Bill Taylor, David Taylor and Thomas Taylor. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Pyke and her brother Wilfred Taylor. Before retiring, Joan worked with the Capital Health Health Sciences Library and the Workers Compensation Board. She loved spending time with her cherished grandchildren, family and outings with her many wonderful friends. On April 11th visitation will be held at 6pm to be followed by a memorial service at 7pm at Snow's Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531. A reception will follow. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the IWK or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
