It is with broken hearts that we have to announce the passing of my only love, great father, father in law, grandfather, brother in law and uncle. Born November 7, 1948 in Halifax, Butch was a very caring, kind and quiet man "a man of few words" for sure. He loved hockey with a passion and his Maple Leafs. He was TASA Minor hockey president for over 10 years and moved it from St.Mary's to St. Margaret's Bay Arena. Going to the Mooseheads Games with mom was a favorite past time but nothing compared to the time spent with his grandchildren. He worked at Olands for 39 years and was on the UFCW executive for over 20. He played baseball on the commons for many years and bowled at the Halifax Bowling Alley where he met his wife. Nothing made Butch happier then the "Leafs" beating the "Habs".He is survived by his loving wife Theresa of 42 years, his sons Patrick (Charlene), Charles (Karen) and his baby girl Holly (Scott). His 4 beautiful grandchildren Madison, Hannah, Hunter and Jake. He is predeceased by his mother Dorothy Connors, uncles Roy and George Connors and aunt Shirley Goodie. A special thanks to the home Dialysis Unit staff for all their help, kindness and friendship, the Doctors and Nurses in the ER and all the floors that dad has spent time on through the years for treating him with such care and kindness.
Visitation will be held in JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax on Monday, May 11 from 2-4pm, 6-8pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday May 13th at 11am in St. Timothy's Church, Hatchet Lake. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of the Diabetes Foundation.
