

Age 71, Fall River, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on December 17, 2014, in Parkland, Drummond Hall, Halifax. Born in Halifax, Wendy was a daughter of the late George and Mildred (Conway) Wooden. She grew up in Purcell’s Cove and settled in Fall River where she and Michael raised their family.
Hairdressing was Wendy’s first career, with her own shop on Spring Garden Road.
Wendy then moved on to real estate where she had an award-winning career. Wendy was a dedicated wife, mother and loyal friend. She especially cherished the time she and Michael shared with their family and friends at the cottage at Harbourview, Smith’s Cove. Wendy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Michael, and by her sons, Mark (Elaine), Dartmouth, and Steven (Debbie), Halifax; her grandchildren, Marissa, Thomas and Isabella. She is also survived by her brother, George (Sandra), sister Diane (Pierre) Duguay and five nephews. Many thanks to her caring friends, family, and the staff of Drummond Hall for their support and compassion. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, from 2 to 4 in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive. A funeral Mass will take place Monday, December 22, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 9 Jamieson Drive, Fall River, Father Duncan MacMaster officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Harbourview in Smith’s Cove. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson’s Society Maritime Region.
