

William Francis (Bill) DRISCOLL, age 85 of Halifax passed away peacefully at home on March 3, 2015, surrounded by family. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Edward and Anna (Carlgren) Driscoll.
He attended St. Peter’s and St. Vincent’s Boys School and Saint John Radio School. He worked for NB Broadcasting CHSJ as studio technician and late-night DJ before joining the RCMP in 1950 where he served in both Marine and “H” Divisions until retirement in 1985. During retirement he hosted the Shaw Cable Newsweek program from 1987 to 1990. Bill enjoyed traveling overseas with wife Hyordis (Kris) touring Ireland, Great Britain and 16 European countries including cruising the rivers Rhine, Thames and Danube, as well as the Fjords of Norway and the Grand Canal in Venice.
Survived by his wife Hyordis (Kristiansen), daughters Charlotte (Joe) Lichter, Nadine (Pat) Flemming, Wendy (Wade) Marshall, Leanne (Ken) Blakeney all of Halifax and Jane McCullough of Toronto, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, brother Murray (Belle River, Ont.) and sister, Betty Morrison (Saint John). Predeceased by brother, Edward and sisters, Mary Daley and Helen Lefaive.
We have been so fortunate to have had such a great example of courage, compassion, caring, and strength to guide us through the years. His life has been a shining star for us to follow and that light will never dim.
Visitation will be held at Snows Funeral Home (Lacewood Drive) on Friday, March 6th from 7pm-9pm followed by the Memorial Service in the chapel on Saturday, March 7th at 1pm.
