

Services will be held Saturday, October 11 at the Riley Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Shane Donahoo officiating. Burial was at Live Oak Cemetery.
Billy was born July 30, 1931, the oldest son of Cecil and Vera Mae Blodgett Donahoo. He married Nelda Newsom on January 20, 1951. They had three children; Deborah Jean, Teresa Gail, and Michael Shane. Deborah passed away in February 1976.
Billy (Painter Bill) was employed by KA Sparks Construction for 53+ years. He was then employed by Forest Ridge/Dove Hill as the maintenance supervisor for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Billy was a gentle, kind, encouraging, strong man who loved the Lord. He loved planting and working a garden and taking care of his plants.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Nelda Donahoo, daughter Teresa Schoen and husband Reggie of Irving, son Michael Shane Donahoo and wife Nancy of Benbrook, beloved grandson Jordan Lee Schoen, sister Stella Taylor and husband Kenneth of Hamilton, brother Bo Donahoo and wife Susan of Gatesville, brother- in-law John Gilman of Jonesboro, sister-in-law Audrey Newsom of Pennsylvania and a special niece Jennifer Cole, who was born on his birthday and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Deborah Elliot, brother Kenneth Donahoo, sister Jenetha Gilman, sister-in-law Mary Jo Berry, brother-in-laws Gerald Berry, and Robert Edgar (Sonny) Newsom, niece Tiffany Cole, and nephews David Donahoo, and Bryan Blackwell.
