Billy "Clark" Pumphrey Jr, 37 of Evant passed away on February 13, 2025, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. In the arms of his loving family then he passed to God. He was born in Arlington Texas to Billy & Sharolyn Pumphrey.
Clark was the best friend anyone ever had. Clark had suffered from Cerebral Palsy since a heart episode at nine-months-old. He had recovered a great number of challenges during his life. This latest event was nonsurvivable.
The love Clark had was immeasurable, ask anyone he contacted including total strangers in Wal-Mart! He needed no reward for being truly an unconditional giver. He was a Hamilton High School Graduate, played on the Bulldog Special Bowling team. Took many trips to school events. He loved going places and was recognized everywhere. Clark lived on a mini farm that had goats, chickens, dogs, cats and trespassing unidentified varmints. Wide open spaces, skies filled with beauty. A place he couldn't be lost in the crowd because he wasn't in a crowd. His friends were forever, just the kind he needed.
Dedication, sometimes this word and commitment are confused used a synonym with family ties, his family had dedication, understanding and commitment. With Clark's growing needs. That's what family does and did. Everyday kept them busy with his routine, yet love came thru time after time, amazing love of Clark.
Missing someone is difficult, losing a loved one is sad. Neither one of those things happened to us because we know he no longer is held back by his limitations. He's free to run as never before go places unattainable till now. Celebrating with Jesus, again in the loving care of God!
Clark is survived by his parent Billy & Sharolyn and a brothers Stephen, Paul Ward and wife Margaret, sister Rebecca Akpan Ward and many nieces and nephews.
