

Charles Henry Niemann was born on January 12, 1935, the son of Henry and Margaret Niemann, in Priddy, Texas. His family were members of Zion Lutheran Church in Priddy. Charles was baptized February 24, 1935 at the Zion Lutheran Church. He was confirmed on October 30, 1949. As one of God’s children, Charles lived his entire life with the assurance of God’s love in Jesus.
Charles joined the Army in 1954 and was chosen to be in the Honor Guard for two years. On May 7th, 1955, he was joined in Holy Matrimony with Odell Seilheimer, of Priddy Texas. While completing his military term, the couple lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
In 1956, Charles and Odell moved to Andrews, Texas, where he was employed with Phillips Petroleum for 9 years. While in west Texas, the couple had a son, Gregory Charles, and a daughter, Sarah Hope.
The family moved to Hamilton in 1966, where they purchased the Western Auto Store. Charles and Odell retired in 1998, having operated the store for 32 years. Upon moving to Hamilton, he became a member of St. John Lutheran Church, serving as an elder for several years and was a faithful member for the remainder of his life.
In his retirement years, Charles thoroughly enjoyed working with the Neighbor to Neighbor organization and serving Meals on Wheels for 14 years, as well as other charitable endeavors when called upon.
On the morning of September 24th, 2013, Charles was called from life in this world to his Savior’s presence.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Paul Niemann and Walter Niemann. He is survived by his wife, Odell Niemann. Charles leaves behind two children, Greg Niemann, of Hamilton, and Sarah Fillip, and husband, Steve Fillip, of Crawford. Charles was also blessed with 3 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Charles’ warm, kind, and humorous personality was a blessing to many family and friends.
We rejoice today in the promise of God which He has kept for Charles. Jesus has come to receive him home into eternity and His promise to us is that one day we shall join him.
Charles’ family has requested that memorials in his honor be given to St. John Lutheran Church of Hamilton, or the charity of your preference.
