

Jackie was born December 29, 1947 in Abilene, TX, to Jack and Vera (Hopson) Blackburn. He married Jimmie Lee Coffer January 9, 1971. Together, they had 2 children Alanda and Krisiti who sadly died when she was 5 months old.
Jackie was a family man, instilling family values and life lessons without you even knowing it, along with being a great husband and father. A man of many talents, Jackie was known to be able to build anything and he enjoyed hunting, bow fishing, classic ’57 Chevys, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Jackie worked 44 years at the telephone company and never forgot his telephone company family. He was a kind and humble man who loved a good joke. He served 2 years in the United States Army during the Vietnam era and was stationed at Fort Hood and Korea.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Riley Funeral Home from 6pm-8pm. Service will be Friday, November 18, 2016, 10 AM at Riley Funeral Home Chapel.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his sisters, Evelyn Blackburn and Donna Sue Donahoo; along with Doris and 2 other infant siblings.
Left to cherish Jackie’s memory is his wife, Jimmie, of Hamilton; his daughter, Alanda Tyson and husband, Don, of Hamilton; his brothers, R. D. Blackburn and wife, Kay, of Hamilton, and Billy Earl Blackburn and wife, Cindy, of Bremond; his sisters, Glenda Shinn and husband, C. E. of Hamilton, Betty June Weeks and husband, Gail, of Lampasas, and Teresa Earlene Cathey and husband, Bobby, of Tyler; 2 grandchildren, Amber and Owen; and many nieces and nephews.
