

Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God and the love and prayers of her family, friends and many supporters carried her through until her last breath.
A celebration of life was held Sunday at Schoedel Barn.
Jessica was born Dec. 15, 1980, in Irving to Steve Kavanaugh and Marqumia Eddleman. Known for her ease and loyalty to her family and friends, she possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. Her gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter and joking around, will never be forgotten. She made a difference in the lives of many. She graduated from Hamilton High School and worked in retail management. Her fondest desire in life was to see her children, Payton Raye and Connor Stephen, be happy. She was married to Billy Ashmore on June 10, 2015. During their long talks about the future, she asked him to share with others, “We shall meet in the first place there is no darkness. Don’t cry. I will always be with you.”
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Catherine Barnes Kavanaugh, Dorothy Kavanaugh, Sam and Annie Seale, Lawrance and Orena Kavanaugh, Florence Ann Fulcher and Howard Eddleman.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Ashmore of Hamilton; children, Payton and Connor Fields of Hamilton; parents, Steve and Brenda Kavanaugh of Hamilton and Marqumia and Howard Frederick of Gatesville; two brothers, Ryland and Taylor Johnson of Fort Worth; her grandfather, Earl Kavanaugh of Hamilton; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In lieu of memorial donations, an account has been set up at Extraco for Payton and Connor.
