

Dick, 90, passed away March 8, 2016 in Hamilton. Visitation will be at Riley Funeral Home on Thursday, March 10 from 6:00-8:00pm, with services on Friday, March 11 at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at the Hico Cemetery.
He was born in Syracuse, NY, on May 29, 1925, to Daniel Patrick and Ethel Mildred Meehan, and grew up in West Monroe and Central Square. He served in WWII at the Battle of the Bulge, receiving the Purple Heart for his valor.
Dick worked in Personnel Development, National and International Training at Texas Instruments for several years. He traveled extensively through South America and Asia, establishing a new Texas Instruments facility in Singapore. He later worked for Texas Utilities as Supervisor of Education and Training. Also during this time, he taught management and leadership courses for the Dallas County Community College District, retiring in 1989.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, James Patrick Meehan. Survivors include Wanda, his wife of 55 years, four sons Dan and wife Susy, Kevan and wife Pattie, Chris and wife Kelly, Gregg, one daughter Karan Koonsman, and a sister Shirley Shestak of Parish, NY. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
