Stella Merle Lawson

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 7, 2018, in the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Jimmy Sansom officiating. Internment was in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Lawson had many business interests here; the principle one was the Lawson Implement Company, the John Deere agency, which she owned and operated.

The daughter of John Edward King and Ollie Mable Cole King, Merle was born in Hamilton County on January 25, 1917, and lived all of her life in this county. On June 2, 1940, she married William Charles Lawson. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hamilton for 92 years.

Surviving her are daughters, Johnnye and husband Bob Gautier and Jean and husband Jerry Bloodworth, both of Hamilton; one son, Billy and wife Sharolyn Lawson of Hamilton, also survive.

Grandchildren, Leslie and Ben Jansen, Loren and Coy Comontofski; Lindsey and Quin Hanson, Landry and Casey Yates, Lea Anne and Sean Hicks, and Brice and Amanda Bloodworth, and great-grandchildren: Madelyn, Charlotte, Landy, Sailor, Piper, Sawyer, Lawson, Addley, Stella, Keeley, Aadan and Clara, also survive.

Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons: Ben Jansen, Coy Comontofski, Quin Hanson, Casey Yates, Brice Bloodworth, and Sean Hicks.
