

He was a loving father to his Daughter Madeline and Casey, a good son to his parents Lem and Alane,
a true brother to his sister Paula. Steven was born in Hico, Texas on November 29, 1970 and was a lifelong
Hamilton County Resident. He was a 1989 graduate of Hamilton High School and then attended TSTC for
Computer science and followed with studies at Tarleton State University in Criminal Justice. Most friends and neighbors will remember him by his nickname “Mouse” and his working years at Tatum-Schoen dealership and at the Alexander Moulding Mill. Many may have had their vehicle repaired or towed by him but everyone knew him as a great dad, loyal friend, and a stranger to no one. He will be deeply missed and most of all will be remembered through his legacy, the pride of his life, his daughters.
He is survived by his parents, Lem and Alene Guthrie of Hamilton, His sister, Paula A Guthrie and Scott Calley of Waco, Texas, his daughters, Madeline Olivia and Casey Lane Guthrie of the home, his Grandmother, Vonceil Hartin Guthrie of Hamilton and his cousins, Sheila Guthrie Tatum, Samantha Guthrie, and Evan Guthrie all of Hamilton, and his great uncle Roland Casey of Hamilton. He is preceded in death by; his grandfather, “Shorty” Guthrie, his grandmother, Katy Guthrie Rutherford, his maternal grandfather, Chester Hartin, and his great uncle, CJ Casey.
Serving as pallbearers are; Chris Andrews, Coty Catoe, Steve Peters, Kevin Tatum, Rusty Coble, and Bobby Crockett. Serving as honorary pallbearers are, Dr. Randy Lee, John Custer, James Lively, Gary Schoen, and John Alexander.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to an account listed Steven “Mouse” Guthrie to benefit his daughter at any Extraco Bank Location.
