The majority of Wendy’s young life was spent living in Hamilton or Brady, Texas where she attended school and gathered numerous friends who came to love her tremendously. She was always described as very energetic, bouncing to the beat of her own tune, her mental jukebox on shuffle, and shining her own unique light wherever she went. Life was always a grand adventure to be conquered. As a young adult she took that adventurous spirit to Florida (with her sister) where she laid claim to her love of the beach, sea turtles, and the ocean. She could most often be found with her hair dancing on the breeze drifting in from the waves and sand under her feet.
Family played a big part in the makeup of Wendy’s identity. She was a loving, generous, and kindhearted daughter, sister, niece, and friend. Most of those she encountered would quickly become like family and as such, get treated like family as well. Her individuality shined brightly in the way that she danced into an area with her smiles and laughter, often quoting lines from favorite movies like Finding Nemo, Top Gun, and A Knights Tale or bouncing to songs from the 90s or 2000s like Laffy Taffy, the Judds, Garth Brooks, Reba, or Shinedown.
She is survived, loved, and will be greatly missed by her mother Janie Lowery of Hamilton, Texas; her sisters: Penny Coppedge of Colton, California; Suzanne Willis of Greenville, North Carolina; Jackie Harper of San Bernardino, California; Amber Lowery of Andalusia, Alabama; her aunt Susan Goleman of Hamilton, Texas; cousins Tiffany and David Clemons of Hamilton, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wendy is preceded by her maternal grandparents, several uncles, and a beloved cousin Gaylen Coker. Service arrangements are currently pending with Riley Funeral Home of Hamilton, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Hamilton Texas Community Center at PO Box 615 Hamilton Texas, 76531. A memorial will be held at a later date.
