Donna Marie Davie was born in Los Angeles County, California, on February 16, 1960, and passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, after years of facing health challenges with strength, courage, and determination.
Donna was born to Wilma Jean Ford and Kenneth Hardesty. Early in life, Donna was placed for adoption and was lovingly raised by her caring parents, Lillian Parsons and Joseph Luciani. Through their love and guidance, Donna was given the foundation that helped shape the caring woman she became.
Donna was raised in Simi Valley, California, where she attended school and created many lifelong memories. During her school years, she was a cheerleader, something she always remembered with pride.
Donna later married Don Gonce, and together they had three children: Ryan Gonce, Jennifer Gonce, and Kenneth Gonce. Donna was also a proud grandmother to four grandchildren, Kayla, Krista, Kenneth, and Daxen, and was blessed with one great-grandchild, Athena.
On July 1, 2000, Donna married Robert Davie in Honolulu, Hawaii. Together they built a life filled with love and shared experiences and eventually made their home in Hesperia, California. They would have celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary this July.
Donna had an infectious smile and a love for life that touched those around her. She loved people and cherished time spent with family and friends. She was a faithful member of Calvary Chapel of the High Desert (CCHD), where she especially enjoyed serving as a greeter and welcoming others with the warmth and kindness that came naturally to her.
Donna was a licensed manicurist for many years and later worked as a merchandiser for Rite Aid. She loved caring for others and found joy in making people feel special and cared for. Family was at the center of Donna’s life, and some of her happiest moments were simply spent surrounded by those she loved.
Donna faced life’s health challenges with remarkable strength and grace. She never complained and never asked, “Why me?” Instead, she continued to face each day with courage, faith, and quiet determination.
Donna and Robert shared many wonderful memories together, especially through travel. Hawaii always held a special place in their hearts, with many trips together creating treasured memories over the years. Donna loved music, especially praise and worship music in her later years. One especially cherished memory was attending a Chris Tomlin concert in Ontario, California with their granddaughter, Krista. She also loved visiting the zoo to see Rusty the gorilla and treasured experiences like swimming with dolphins.
Those who knew Donna will remember her beautiful smile, warm heart, and even her playful “Elvis lip” expression that always brought laughter and smiles to those around her. One of the sayings that reflected Donna’s journey through life was: “I never said it would be easy. I only said it would be worth it.”
Donna had a special love for the pets who held a very special place in her heart. She and Robert were blessed with Savannah cats who were truly like children to them — Zoey, Prince, Tigra, and Zeus.
Donna was preceded in death by her first child, Ryan Gonce, who passed away in infancy, and by her loving adoptive parents, Lillian Parsons and Joseph Luciani.
