Good afternoon .....
Well dad I sure miss our talks in the morning ! keehan is not cutting it lol dad! today I tried to talk politics this morning with my coffee to try to fill the void and my poor baby barley knows who is the president lol he said if you ask me about angie and kate he would know the answer! I sure miss your voice life is ok I been riding the storm but I remember Jesus is the light in the darkness so I will over come this I know I will just wish you were here to talk me through it but u have taught me to put my trust in GOD and not in man and that I will do just wish you were around or even a phone call away or like a lot of people wish if heaven had visiting hours ! thank you for the most beautiful memories here on earth I enjoyed many many moments and talks with you. I remembered the time I cried for hours I put my head down and wanted to give up but you said its ok mija will get through this u had no idea what I was crying about? But now I can say I knew the end was near for you and I couldn't bare to look you in the eyes so I put my head down and mourned even though u were in my presence I washed your feet cleaned your wound gave you drink and a bigg hug because I knew any day can be your day to be in Christ jesus I miss u tremendously its hard to deal with two vary difficult passings in the last year but I know I will c u again .....-Riley

It does not get easier over time.  I am so grateful Dad had very special people in his last days to surround him and comfort him.  Thank you!  
What a great privilege we have in Christ Jesus.  His mercy is incredible and surpasses all understanding.  My father closed his eyes and instantaneously opened them at home with the Lord.  " Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8).  When the apostle Paul talked about being caught up into paradise, he heard and saw things so astounding that they cannot be told.  That's why he could say in Philippians 1:23, "I'm torn between two desires: Sometimes I want to live, and sometimes I LONG TO GO AND BE WITH CHRIST.  That would be far better for me!"  Thank you Savior, for truth that sets us free!

miss you dad every day I would like to think it gets easier but I know it only gets harder angie asked for you the other day apparently she thinks your in the hospital...It was difficult to try to explain to a 3 yr old her best friend is not coming back.....she said remember mom grandpa like straaawwwberry ice crème ?  I said yes ....Now that I know and have answers to how you passed it makes a lot of sense I am sorry I left you DAD but there was nothing that I could have done to save you and GOD knew that I would try everything if something were to happen ....I would not have been able but that's ok I loved when you were here with me and I still love you now and always will ......MISS U a purple candle for you because you are royal!!!

Remember when Angelina wanted to take a picture with you and keehan had to jump in too lol and you said print that out mija and put in on my stand now that's a riley picture ! the more that angie spends time with keehan the more she acts like him lol and shes just like you to she tells me "watch it " and SHHHHHHH! with the mean look lol and she still thinks your coming back but I let her know your in her heart dad and she says grandpas too big to be in my heart lol love you dad miss you every day

Today is one of many of the days were I suffer the void of the best thing I have known as a father. The reason I say that is because you don't have to be a dad or a father purely by blood if im not mistaken we are all created by the same GOD. I thank GOD for MY DAD Douglas Glenn Riley some people have different past present and futures im learning to realize that GOD is in control of our life and just to think all those bad decisions in life would bring me to this vary moment, I can honestly say I have no regrets because I am happier than ever because dad told me mija your a riley and even though we seem broken at heart we are strong perseverance is what we have a bond that we carry with in us that cannot be destroyed by the devil. Mija Keehan will love you like Kelby loves Holly he would tell me that keehan reminded him so much of kelby. Dad I love you and miss you daily I miss our coffee in the morning our talks about life both good and bad and how we made a home of no judgment but pure grace and I wish your children could have seen that part of you I WILL BE A RILEY SOON DAD and ill fit in perfect just like you said! love you until we meet again dad !!!

King David had just suffered the loss of his baby boy.  His baby boy was now dead.  And the words he spoke under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit bring me such truth and comfort.  He said, "Can I bring him back again?  I will go to him one day, but he cannot return to me" (2 Samuel 12:23).  Such hope we have in Christ Jesus!

I would like to say I had the most wonderful time this weekend with the riley family!! I know dad would have been so proud to see everyone there but I am sure he was there in spirit ! I want to thank everyone not only for putting smiles on your fathers, grandfathers face cuz it brought him joy he talked so highly of all his grandchildren and how each and everyone of them made him proud he would bragg and I loved it because it made him happy and he would tell me my kidz can upset me at times but at this vary moment if they needed me I would be there. I miss him daily and I will say I am proud of you DAD! im proud at the fact that no matter how hard life got and how bitter he may have seemed he loved each and everyone of you. Faith in christ is what kept him going. You guys kept him going he didn't want anyone to think he gave up! not many were there in person but I know in spirit and in prayer you were all there for him Thank you for that!

I have many memories as a kid going to my Grandpas house. He always encouraging and always taught me to take pride in being a RILEY. I always knew he loved me because he took every chance to tell me. 
One of my favorite memories was when he came and too one of my soccer games. I did not play well that day but when I got off the field he made me feel like a total Champion. I will miss times like that! Thank God for his mercy and love.

I don't have many pictures but I do got a really funny memory...after dad came home from the hospital he would try and walk I would tell him dad ur gonna fall but of course he insisted on walking any ways....I left my older daughter katelin with him to watch him while I went to the store and again she tells him grandpa sit down your gonna fall and she told me mom he still gets up and walks he told her don't worry mija I wont fall and sure enough he fell so me and keehan got home and I said dad how did you get on the floor ????? and he replied " I GOT SHOT " for the life of me I couldn't help but to laugh my dad is so amazing and funny hope this lil memory put a smile on ur face for those that feel the loss as I do! miss you dad

My dad was the coach of Los Gators soccer club. He was more than a coach to us kids. We won multiple  championships.  My father was like a father to all my teammates. Before big games my dad would always have us pray for protection and victory.  He was a true mentor to us kids.

When I was a boy, my father was my soccer coach.  He coached my club soccer team. To conclude each season, my dad would have the team do something special.  One end of the season party, the team took a field trip to Magic Mountain.  I had to be about 11 years old.  Our very last ride for the day was going to be the "Revelution." I had walked around the park with my dad and my team acting like I was this big man not afraid of anything.  But as soon as we stood in line,my belly began to turn.  The closer we got to the beginning of the line, the more fear gripped me. My beautiful dad could see what was happening to me.  Finally I just broke down in tears.  I wanted to find the nearest exit.  But my dad wouldn't let me go.  He told me he was going to ride the roller coaster with me.  And once the ride was done, I would love it.  It was the best roller coaster ride I had ever been on.  My dad was right there with me.

Well today is one of those tuff to get through days but to be honest this site has helped everyone's input helps relieve some of the pain in my heart from the absence of my DAD I say that cuz he cared for me like a father and treated my kidz like royalty!(thank you dad)
he thought them how to pray and thought me not only to talk about GOD but to truly and with all my heart believe in him. He had the most wonderful things to say about his grand children he said I don't get to see them as much as I would like but GOD has always opened that door for me to speak with them on the phone those were his most content days with him its like he was at ease. I miss him I truly do from the bottom of my heart I felt that I turned a rock into a flower it once was I miss our talks even tho we always did not see eye to eye when I would get upset I would avoid him completely and he would call out mija! mija! FORGIVE ME! me being me how could I not lol so I would go out sit on the bed and he would say im sorry mija but im just an old man sometimes I say things I don't mean then when I realized I upset you I knew that I said something wrong but he would tell me look at me mija when im talking to you im sorry! and I would turn to him and say dad? in my life I hate that word SORRY when you hear it so much in life it becomes a word with no meaning actions dad actions speak loader than words! and is much as he wanted to get upset with me because of my attitude about that word he simply looked me in the eye and would say I apologize for what I said please forgive an old dumb man he would always put him self down as well until one day he made me so upset I told him enough DAD! don't you know who u are???? You Sir are a son of a KING regardless of ur sins u are royalty now you start acting like it! that's when things started to really change it was about two months ago he looked at me his eyes tear up and he says I love you mija I have been an old negative bitter man and im tired I want to change but I don't know how I said then you pray to the king and you ask him to show you, you seek him dad not me I don't have the answer your looking for but he does (How great is our GOD?)(GREAT!!!) that's when he changed for the better and I sure do miss that side of him I really do but that is just one conversation of many that I wanted to share .....I hope wherever you are dad you are at piece I love you and miss you very much angie blesses her grandpa every day thank you for teaching her to pray!!!!! love kandy

My grandpa would talk to my brother,sister and I. He would talk to us just to hear how our day was. I would ask him how he was doing, and he would always say he was blessed just because he was able to talk to us. Thank you God for the glory you promise those who believe in you.

One memory of my grandpa that comes to mind, was visiting him and going to this Mexican store. There my dad, mom, and my grandpa would buy corn. My grandpa would also buy strawberries and sour cream. Then he would make a strawberry cream and sugar dessert. It was so good. Rest in peace grandpa.

Well there are so many memories that come to mind when I think of my Grandpa. I have great childhood memories at my Grandpa's house, playing in the backyard, going swimming, great home cooked meals, and all the family bible studies. But there is one memory in particular that I will always remember. One night I was coughing through the night, none stop. I was probably 10 years old or so. And my Grandpa got up and got me cough medicine. He was so caring and I thought he had given me magic juice; because when he picked me up and put me back to bed, he said I love you Mamas, and after I don't remember coughing that whole night. It was such a good memory of just my Grandpa and I. He was just taking good care of me. I will never forget that. I love you Grandpa. I wish things were different. But God is so merciful, I know we will meet again.

I want to thank the riley family for all the love and support ....i also want to share my memories with mr riley aka DAD aka the lil mermaid the memories that i want to share are important people see me as helping him but truley we help one another i will say he was the most bitter negative grumpy old man....but when i met DAD i can see right through the hatred depression most difficult thorne bush around in him through his eyes i seen this most strongest loveing hard working man that opened his home for his sons happiness and health sacraficed his privacy for me and my kids thats when we became a family he was and his son onfact were the missing peaces to my broken heart and jesus our father was the glue i know it has not been the easiest path with him but i can honestly say he is resting in peace he fought the good fight and deep with in him he was set free ....i love u dad!! #rileyfamily#1#.....

My grandpa was a huge soccer fan. From what my dad says, my grandpa could also play the game pretty well. I can't even kick a ball. But I sure love to wrestle. My grandpa understood that. He understood the demands the sport places on its practitioners. He always encouraged me and believed in me. He would say, "Remember, you are a Riley!" Even when he was sick and dying my uncle Keehan would drive my grandpa to see me wrestle. I know it brought him great pride to see his grandson wrestle and win.  And when I would loose, he would say, I'll take him out for you." Thank you God for my grandpa.

I'm thankful to Douglas for raising a great son. He is my best friend, husband, soul mate and the father of my children.  Without you, Ana and the Lord Jesus he would not be the man he is. Your absence in his life will be missed.

Thank you Almighty Savior for my father. A man, who in the end, put his trust and hope in the mercy of God the Savior - the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for this great HOPE we have in Christ. This Good News is the power of God at work saving everyone who believes. Like the apostle Paul said, "My hope is in the resurrection from the dead." Thank you again Savior for this hope you only give in Jesus Christ the Lord. Looking through old photos of my dad when he was a young man. Photos of when he married my mom, his first wife. In these pictures you can see such a joy and smile I have not seen in him in a long, long while. I know today he is now filled with an unspeakable joy and smile all because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us. Thank you so much my God and Savior. Love always, Kelby your firstborn son. Thanks to my younger brother Keehan, who worked so hard taking care of our father. A young man who loved his father with actions to the very end. Great, great work. Love you!
