

Irvin is the eldest of 7 children, He is proceeded in death by his parent’s, brother Glen Frericks, sisters Carol Jean (Becker), Mary Teresa (Pat) Teachout)) and brother Melvin.
He was a Marine and served in the Korean war for 1 year and stateside for 3 years. He is survived by his wife Barbara Lorraine (Riggins), four sons, Daniel Irvin (Jacqueline Ann Norman) of Apple Valley, CA, Kevin Dwayne (Carolyn Provenzano) of Spring Valley Lake, CA, Shawn Kelly (Buffy Marie Neal) of Lindale, TX and Patrick Shannon (Dr. James Rollman) of Hesperia, CA, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
Irvin worked several jobs- a few being as caretaker of the Santa Monica Girl Scout Camp in Wrightwood, CA, Lockheed International, 2 other Camps (Baptist and a Catholic) in Wrightwood, CA, Douglas Aircraft, he retired after more than 25 years from Riverside Cement Company as a Precision Machinist and after retirement he worked at Home Depot in the Plumbing department. He is loved by those he met and interacted with- the epitome of him was a story relayed by a contractor at Riverside Cement co that shared that when “Irv saw my tattered welding gloves, he marched to the storeroom and brought me a new pair”, that’s just how he was. Stoic on the outside but a mother hen on the inside. He had a huge heart and loved to make sure his family & friends were taken care of. Irvin and Barbara would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on January 17th, 2019. His gentle love and attention will be missed.
