Jim was born in Lansing, Michigan to William and Elizabeth Hatch on November 9, 1931. He attended High School at Everett High School and and then later Eastern High School in Lansing Michigan.
He married Coleen Veith on January 14, 1956 in Laingsburg, Michigan.
Jim worked as a security guard for General Motors in Lansing Michigan for 32 years. He served in the Navy and then later the Air Force. He was a member of Lake Lansing Baptist Church in Okemos, Michigan for many years until he retired and moved to Henderson, Nevada. He then attended Bethany Baptist Church located in Boulder City, Nevada.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and William Hatch, his sister, Lillian and brother, Robert Hatch and his wife of 50 years Coleen Hatch (Veith).
He is survived by his son, Douglas James Hatch and daughter, Lisa James (Mitchell James) Grandchildren, Heather Beattie, Kristen Long (Cody Long) Alyssa Bogard (Andy Bogard) and Morgan Beattie. He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.
The family of Jim wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Shima Hadidchi and his home health care nurse, Lucy Deleon, his physical therapist. Cara Beck and many people that have been in prayer with us over these last few years.
Jim will be missed for his funny sayings, songs and happy nature! "I'm so handsome that it hurts", "beep beep, there's an ant in the road!" "Mares eat oats, and doe's eat oats, and little lambs eat ivy."
