Richard Gene Gibbs

Richard Gene Gibbs, age 81, of Apple Valley, CA passed away on July 15, 2016 after a valiant struggle with failing health. His survivors are his wife of 18 years, Ann (Lippard) Gibbs. Sons, Michael (Monica) Gibbs of Hartford, AL, Shawn (Connie) Gibbs of Plymouth, IN, Phillip Gibbs of Apple Valley. He was preceded in death by his Daughter, Brette Larson of Utah. Grandchildren are Jessie Faye (Josh) Hill and Ryan Gibbs of Plymouth, IN. Step-children: Wendy McConnell (Rob) of Henderson, NV, Chuck Woodward (Lisa) of Oceanside, CA, and Steve Woodward (Cindy) of Prescott Valley, AZ. and 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce (Dr. Curtis) Watkins of Camden, SC and brother, Gary Gibbs of Spartanburg, SC.

Gene graduated from Fort Myers High School and attended the University of Florida. He moved from Florida to CA in the 70's and worked in the grocery business as a Meat Cutter. He found his true calling when he joined Century 21 Fairway Realty in 1996 and became their Business Opportunities and Commercial specialist.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 3 at 11:00 am at Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary, 24000 Waalew Rd., Apple Valley, CA 92307
