Sylvia was born on April 26, 1934, in Foster, Missouri, to Eugene Joseph Scarnier and Lillian L.J. (Landon) Simons. She attended school in Rich Hill, Missouri. She married John “Jack” Martin, of Rich Hill, Missouri, on January 7, 1951, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
She is survived by her daughter, Vivian (Ed) Martinez of Apple Valley, CA; sons, John (Jacquie) Martin Jr. of Hesperia, CA; Anthony “Tony” (Vickie) Martin of Cortez, CO and Mark (Sharon) Martin of Memphis, TN; and 9 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Scarnier and Lillian Simons; sisters, Mildred Gene McIntire of Rich Hill, MO; Marie L. Bogue of Fountain Valley, CA; Eva Fern Dobbins of Independence, MO; and Isabell Mae Collins of Belton, MO.
Interment will at Green Lawn Cemetery in Rich Hill, MO.
