

Alan Samuels, age 90, of Boca Raton,passed away on February 27. Alan was born September 15, 1931 in Far Rockaway, NY. He grew up in Belle Harbor, one block from the Atlantic Ocean. He served as a medic in the Air Force during the Korean War. He began in the mailroom at Frenkel & Company, an insurance brokerage, while attending NYU at night. He went on to become the president and CEO of Frenkel, growing it into an international leader. Everyone knew Alan by his CPCU license plate. He was preceded in death by his parents Zelma and Harry; his brother Stuart; and his first wife, Barbara. He is survived by his wife Ginny Samuels; his sister Judy Ann Lauber; his children Steven Samuels (Judy), Scott Meyer (Marcie), Jill Horbacewicz (Michael), David Samuels (Samantha), 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He and Ginny had 50 wonderful years together. They raised their family in Woodmere NY. He was an active member of Temple Beth El, on the board of trustees at the Hospital for Joint Diseases, and was honored by the ADL. When the grandchildren were born, they moved to Atlantic Beach, one block from the Atlantic Ocean. Later, they moved to Boca Raton where he was an active member of Boca West. Alan was the person everyone depended on. He was there for support, and advice, and always knew just what to do. He was incredibly generous and always put family first.
