Edith Nagler Wolkenberg, 93 of Lido Beach, NY, passed away on August 14, 2024. Edith was married for 57 spectacular years to Gilbert Wolkenberg, who passed on September 1st, 2008. The rarest of rare, a blue white diamond, her father-in-law called her. Mom, Grandma, GG and Edie as she was affectionately known by all, is, was and will forever be the most beautiful, fierce, effusive, graceful, eloquent, generous, pragmatic and loving woman. Her presence was unmistakable. All who met her, even for a moment, were instantly aware that they were in the presence of an extraordinary woman. Grandma Edie and Pop-pop Gil built a storybook life filled with love, grounded by the principles of kindness and warmth. Edith is survived by her children and their spouses Beth & Bruce Kaplan, Rick & Karen Wolkenberg and Rusty & Tom O’Dowd, her 8 grandchildren and their spouses Josh & Yelana Kaplan, Andy & Adrianne Kaplan, Jeremy & Rachel Kaplan, Justin & Emily Wolkenberg, Steven & Marissa Wolkenberg, Corey & Brianna Wolkenberg, Casey & Katie Primeau, Logan & Aby Primeau, and incredibly, 14+ great grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew, Luke, Dylan, Liam, Hannah, Benjamin, Sophia, Graham, Caleb, Nathan, Jocelyn, Aiden, Elise and bonus grands and greats Michael & Jessica O’Dowd and McKenzie & Ryleigh, all of whom she got to know and love. “No one had a better life or had more fun than me” she was keen to say, and she was right. She will be missed dearly and her life will be remembered and celebrated for eternity. Services, Sunday August 18th 10am @Boulevard Riverside Chapels. www.BoulevardRiversideChapels.com
