

Leonard was born in the Bronx, New York on March 17, 1923 to David and Minnie Kessler.
A proud veteran, Leonard served in the Army Air Forces from 1942 to 1946, including time in the Philippines, and attained the rank of sergeant.
Leonard was married to Abby Ginsberg on June 20, 1948 in Far Rockaway, New York.
Having previously graduated from Morris High School in the Bronx, in 1977 Leonard received an Associate’s Degree from the University of the State of New York.
Leonard had a long and varied career, culminating as a hospital administrator, directing laundry services at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York City.
At the time of his death, Leonard was living in North Woodmere, New York, having lived in Lynbrook, New York for the previous 38 years and Far Rockaway, New York for the prior 28 years.
Leonard is survived by his sons Joseph, Charles, and Jeffrey, daughters-in-law Cristina and Susan, and grandchildren Rachel, Jesse, and Landon.
Leonard was predeceased by his wife Abby (2006), sister Estelle, brother Murray, and parents David and Minnie.
Leonard was laid to rest on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Beth Moses Cemetery in Pinelawn, New York.
