SALPETER-Lucy Lasser of Woodmere, NY, born December 11, 1923 and died January 12, 2018. With grace, strength and intelligence, she dedicated her life to family, community and country. Graduated Far Rockaway High School, Hofstra College, NYU as an Occupational Therapist. Lt. JG Navy WAVES during WWII rehabilitating our wounded veterans. Steadfast benefactor of Peninsula Hospital Center, co-founded by husband, and of Temple Beth-El, co-founded by in-laws. Former long standing member of The Woodmere Club, NY. Devoted wife of 53 years to the late Burton F. Salpeter, M.D. of Neponsit, NY. Loving mother of Ann Schockett, Peter Matuza, Steven Salpeter; grandmother of Debra, Erica and Paul Schockett, and Jeffrey LeGars; great-grandmother of Spencer, Aiya, Asher, Ruby, and Magnolia. Adoring ‘mom’ to Cotton Candy. Services January 14 at noon at Boulevard-Riverside Chapel, 1450 Broadway, Hewlett, NY 11557; internment following at Old Montefiore Cemetery, Queens, NY.
