We are all very blessed to have been a part of Max's life,  I shall miss his gentleness and compassion for life.  I mourn with the family.  Marilyn Stock

Max lived a long and rewarding life. He will forever live in our hearts. May all receive an increase from the God of Abraham, mercy, peace and love. I give my sincere condolence to the Mermelstein family and relatives. Psalm 121:2-8

Max was our guide, mentor, and inspiration on all things relating to our shared ancestral town of Skala Zbrucz. With his death, a precious connection to our grandparents and their way of life is gone. We are grateful for all that Max taught us and will much miss his spirited determination that those who perished in Skala be honored and remembered.  To his dear Clara and their family, I give my deepest sympathy. Please know that Max's death is our loss too.

We are very sad to learn of Max Mermelstein's death. I greatly valued all of his contributions to keep the memory of Skala's Jewish community alive.  He was President for many years of the Skala Benevolent Society, lead the building of the Skala Jewish cemetery, edited the Skala Yizkor book, collected many documents, etc.  I am very grateful to him for aiding me in continuing his contributions including the translation of the Skala Yizkor book and numerous other ways.  We valued his friendship. Our deepest sympathies to Clara and all of his family. May his memory be a blessing
