Brent Alan Hopper

Brent A. Hopper, age 64, of Gary, IN, passed away on February 4, 2026. He is survived by his significant other, Carolyn; daughter, Shannon (Eddie Guzik) Hopper; grandchildren, Trinity (Craig) Miller and all her fur babies, Exa Hopper and her fur babies, and Mateo Guzik; sisters, Debbie Sanchez, Patsy Thompson, and Rose (late Skeet) Hopper-Wadell; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara A. Hopper and father, Earl Clifton Hopper; brothers, Melvin Hopper and Michael Thompson; and sister Donna Golden.

As per his wishes, Brent will be cremated, and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. This record will be updated once those details have been confirmed.

Brent was a member of the Blackoak Gary Fraternal Order of Eagles. 

"God, I just want to thank you so much for my Daddy's life here on Earth. Thank you for choosing such an un-perfect, perfect-for-me person, to be my Daddy. He never raised a hand to me, loved me with his whole heart, called me kiddo even at 44, had an infectious personality and laugh, a beautiful smile, and oh, how he loved to be happy and live the simple life. He was very free-spirited, believed in God, was very selfless, and would light up any room he entered. He never kept up on new technology until he had no choice, hated to talk on the phone for long periods of time, and oh, there is so much more to say. But God, thank you for blessing our family with this man. Keep him alive in all of our memories, and may his memory always be blessed. Daddy, I'd choose you again a million times over, but God needed you more."- Shannon Hopper
