DOROTHY H. CHAMBERS (NEE URISS) Dorothy H. Chambers (nee Uriss), age 92, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012. She is survived by two daughters: Darlene Harreld of Griffith, IN and Georgene (Dave) Oprea of Schererville, IN; four grandchildren: Robin (Gary) Neidig of Plymouth, IN, Tim Harreld of Highland, IN, Randy (Ashley) Harreld of Greenville, S.C., and Philip (Sara) Harreld of Highland, IN; ten great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; brother, George (Nancy) Uriss of Highland, IN; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Uriss of Valparaiso, IN; brother- in-law, Eugene Filas of Punta Gorda, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Chambers was preceded in death by husband, Bill Chambers; three sisters: Annamary, Leona, and Margie; two brothers: Vergil and John Leroy; and parents: Patrick and Leona Uriss. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN with Pastor Phil Humber officiating. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, May 11, 2012 from 10:30-11:30 a.m at the funeral home. Mrs. Chambers enjoyed reading, baking, cooking, music and working her puzzle books. Dorothy was a loving and generous woman who was loved by all of her family and she will be dearly missed.
