Foster was a Marine Corps veteran and retiree of American Chemical in Griffith. Foster lived his life for Christ first, others second, and himself last. Seeking to be the hands and feet of Jesus to others. He served as an Elder, Shepherd, and Sunday School Teacher at the First Christian Church of Hessville for over 50 years. He enjoyed the many dear friendships that were made through the years at the Hessville church. He volunteered regularly until his health did not allow him any longer at several local organizations: Hospice of the Calumet Area, Crown Point Christian Village, Heartland Blood Center, Meals on Wheels, & Lake Region Christian Assembly. When his duties allowed, he enjoyed traveling/spending time with his wife, fishing with dear friends, breakfast out with “the boys”, and a board game or two. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The William J. Riley Memorial Residence Hospice Munster, IN. “A heart full of love always has something to give.”
