

James William Ham, age 72, of Hammond, IN, born November 14, 1943, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016. He passed away from complications due to a stroke. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Carolyn (nee Garner); daughter, Beth Ham; son, Jamie (Crystal) Ham; two loving granddaughters: Serena and Savannah Ham; sister, Sally (Dan) Spoljoric; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Highland. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post #232 of Hessville. Jim retired from Calumet Breweries in 2001 after a 30 year career in the beer industry. He was also an original member of the acapella singing group Stormy Weather, which allowed him the opportunity to tour the country performing in world renowned venues and singing alongside some of the all-time greats of Rock & Roll. He had a zest for life and enjoyed every aspect of it to the very end. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN with Rev. Linda Skaggs officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Friends are invited to meet with the family Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home.
