

MARVIN J. HIXON WHEATFIELD, IN FORMERLY HIGHLAND, IN Marvin J. Hixon, age 71, passed away Monday, October 1, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 9, 1941 in Gary, IN to the late Fred and Ellen Hixon of Black Oak, IN. Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judith (nee Milam) Hixon; two sons: Kevin and Robert Hixon; daughter, Kelly (John) Sherbit; grandchildren: Evan, Andrew, Nicole, and Jacob Hixon, and Kyle, Joshua, and Jessica Sherbit; his loving sisters: Marilyn (Kenny) Hill, Phyllis (late Gene) Roche, and Beverly (Jim) Jansen; brothers: George (Diane) Hixon, Ron (Betty) Hixon, Art (Lyvonne) Hixon, Richard (Carol) Hixon, and Kenny Hixon; sister-in- law, Joyce Hixon; along with many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Hixon. Funeral services officiated by Randy Harrison, Minister will be held at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road), Highland, IN Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Marvin founded Hixon Home Improvement of Highland, IN in 1973. He was a member of the American Pygmy Pouter Club and Central Cropper & Pouter Club. He enjoyed racing and had race teams at Illiana Speedway in the '80s and '90s. Marvin loved his Indiana University Hoosiers' basketball, his dogs Ty and Chloe, plus all his pigeons and chickens. He was a devoted, loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. He will be dearly missed. www.kuiperfh.com
