Rick worked as a Local 41 union laborer and also served for the Army in the Vietnam War. He will be remembered for his legendary humor and fierce love of all sports and music.
Rick is survived by his loving children; daughter, Holly Chumbley; and sons, Ricky Chumbley and Daniel Chumbley; step-sons, Timothy (Katherine) Dillon, Richard Dillon, and John Judd; grandsons, Scottie, Joshua, Andrew, and Krew; great-grandsons, Jeriah, Bryson, and Cash; sister, Kathleen Chumbley; and many nieces and nephews.
Rick was preceded in death by his siblings, Patricia, Thelma, Jeanne, and Thomas.
He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
The funeral service for Rick will be held at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN, 46322 on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Visitation will continue until 6:00 pm.
