Robert Alan Macocha

Robert Alan Macocha (Bob) of Highland, Indiana, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the age of 56. Bob was born on March 8, 1962 in East Chicago, Indiana. He was a 1980 graduate of Bishop Noll Institute. He also attended the University of Dubuque in Iowa, and later finished his degree at Purdue. He is survived by his loving daughter Jeanna Macocha, three grandchildren, Alex, Christina and Brian, devoted sister Nancy (Mitch) Moneta, nephew Mackenzie Moneta, and his loving companion of many years, Marie Macocha. Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary Ann and Walter Macocha, his grandparents, and many aunts and uncles. Bob was a loving, big-hearted guy who would do anything for anyone. In high school he was always active in sports, football, wrestling, baseball… an all-around athlete. As he got older, he focused more on his music and loved playing in local clubs with his band. Luckily Bob was able to say that he got to see the Cubbies win the World Series during his lifetime in 2016. He was a devoted father and grandpa. Although we think he did miss his calling to be a meteorologist, he was always on top of the weather and warning those he loved of storms rolling in. He loved working on projects around the house, always tinkering with something. But most of all --- he loved his family. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, Indiana from 3-8 p.m., (prayer service 3:30 pm) with Mass being held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at St. James the Less Church, 9640 Kennedy Avenue, Highland, Indiana at 10 a.m. (meeting at Kuiper Funeral Home at 9:00 a.m. for procession). In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are appreciated.
