Susan dedicated more than 25 years of her career to Meijer Grocery Store, where she worked diligently on department resets and planograms. Known for her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and warm personality, she made a lasting impression on her colleagues and the many customers she encountered over the years.
Susan is survived by her beloved sisters, Mary (Charles) Szo, Karen Szymanski, and Janet Szymanski. She will also be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews, Jason Szo, Alyssa (Andrew) Jorden, Sheila Szo, Grace Szymanski, Kassidy Szymanski, Megan Szymanski, and Ben Szymanski; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Tanner Szo, McKenna Szo, Addison Jorden, Aurora Szo, Ava Jorden, Andrew Jorden, Jr., and Alaina Jorden. She also leaves behind numerous cousins who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin X. Szymanski; her mother, Valeria A. Szymanski (Musuta); and her sister, Doris A. Szymanski.
Susan, also known lovingly as Sue, Susie, and Auntie Sue, cherished her family. Gathering for birthdays, holidays, and the traditional Tuesday night family dinners, she was always present. She loved watching movies and going on shopping trips with her sisters. She would come and support all of her nieces and nephews at their school programs, sporting events, and religious sacraments. Living with Megan, she would be a huge part of her growing into the woman she has become today. Sue was always there for every member of her family, whom she loved deeply.
She had many passions throughout her life. She enjoyed playing softball and volleyball during her younger years, and continued to enjoy watching games as she got older. When feeling creative, she made beautiful cross stitch pieces. She enjoyed watching her shows, playing with her and Janet's cat, Luna, and spending time with loved ones. She always made every conversation more enjoyable with her compassion, interest, and humor. Every holiday season, she would make the best chocolate chip cookies.
Susan will be remembered for her kindness, loyalty, and the love she shared with her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, and her memory will be carried forward in the hearts of all who knew her.
