SYLVIA SWART (NEE TERPSTRA) HIGHLAND, IN Sylvia Swart (nee Terpstra), age 97 of Highland, IN, beloved mother, went to be home with the Lord on April 27,2013. She was born in Griffith, IN to Grace and Harry Terpstra. Preceded in death by her husband, John Swart. Survived by four daughters: Yvonne (Arie) Swets of Schererville, IN, Arlene (Art) Den Hartog of AK, Karen (John) Zandstra of Highland, IN, Cheryl (Kevin) Burton of AZ; two sons: John H. Swart of Highland, James (Cheryl) Swart of New Mexico; 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren; one sister, Jean Loerop, Lansing, IL; one brother, Wayne (Fran) Terpstra of MI; sisters-in-law: Trudy Buck of Merrillville, IN, Fran Enock of South Bend, Gerri Terpstra, Palos Park, IL Shirley Terpstra of South Holland, IL. Friends may visit with the family on Friday May 3, 2013 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at New Life Christian Reformed Church (3010 Ridge Rd) Highland, IN. A memorial service will be held Saturday May 4, 2013 10:00 AM at the church, Rev. Bill Sytsma and Rev. Steve Swets officiating. A private family burial will take place Saturday at Hope Cemetery. Sylvia was a charter member of the New Life Christian Reformed Church. Memorial donations to Gideon's International Bible or Highland Christian School.
